Fund Activities

While the NCMF made its initial cash donation in 2003 to the Intensive Care Unit at North Arundel Hospital (now the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center) where Nancy Collins was a patient, today her family and friends honor her memory by hosted charitable events on behalf of Frederick Memorial Healthcare System. The two areas of the hospital receiving these benefits are the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund and the Billy Miller Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Since its inception, the NCMF has been working hard on gathering funds for their cause. Every year, from 2004 through 2009, the NCMF has made annual cash donations to the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, which helps to meet the needs of cancer patients in the Frederick community.

Beginning in 2008 the NCMF has made annual cash donations to the Billy Miller Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which is a Level III NICU providing state-of-the-art care for new born babies as young as 28 weeks.

Additionally, the NCMF has donated a variety of material items to the hospital, including 5 beautiful wooden rocking chairs to the Regional Cancer Therapy Center, 2 beautiful wooden rocking chairs to the Billy Miller Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and 2 framed pieces of artwork by the artist P. Buckley Moss to the Billy Miller Intensive Care Unit.

Beginning in 2009 NCMF donated $1000 to Frederick Memorial Healthcare System. The money is used for their strategic capital improvement program.
